Pathways4Progress: Empowering Migrant Adult Learners for Employability

The Pathways4Progress project supports Somalische Kultur- und Integrationsverein (SKI) in transforming its community-based work into structured, employability-focused adult education. Through job shadowing in Finland and training in Italy, staff will develop competences in intercultural mediation, learner-centred non-formal education, and digital tools.

The project will introduce structured learning pathways, curriculum design, and validation methods to make outcomes measurable. It will strengthen organisational capacity, build long-term European partnerships, and create practical tools for future projects. 

Ultimately, migrant adults will benefit from improved employability opportunities, stronger integration pathways, and inclusive learning aligned with Erasmus+ priorities.

  • Adult migrants and refugees (aged approx. 20–55) 
  • Migrants facing unemployment or labour market barriers 
  • Adults with fewer opportunities (low socio-economic background, limited language skills, social exclusion) 
  • Migrant women facing additional integration barriers 

Secondary Target Groups 

  • Staff and educators of Somalische Kultur- und Integrationsverein (SKI) 
  • Adult education trainers and facilitators 
  • Volunteers and mentors working with migrant communities 

Indirect Target Groups 

  • Local migrant communities and families 
  • Employers and labour market stakeholders 
  • Adult education organisations and NGOs 
  • Local authorities and integration stakeholders 
  • European partner organisations and networks 

These groups will benefit through improved learning opportunities, enhanced employability pathways, and stronger integration support. 



OBIETTIVI DEL PROGETTO

  1. Strengthen SKI capacity to support migrant adults from inclusion to employability 
  2. Improve staff competences in advanced Non-Formal Education methodologies
  3. Build long-term European partnerships and Erasmus+ cooperation capacity 

 

RISULTATI DEL PROGETTO

Staff mobility will convalidare competences to transform Non-Formal Education into structured, result-oriented adult learning. This leads to redesigned training pathways and an openly shared practical toolkit.  SKI will formalize strategic partnerships for deeper European collaboration. Migrant adults gain employability-focused opportunities. SKI will also embed new procedures, reinforcing institutional capacity and addressing Erasmus+ priorities (inclusion, digitalisationsustainability, quality). 

 

APPROCCIO / METODOLOGIA

The project applies a learner-centred, participatory Non-Formal Education (NFE) approach focused on inclusion, employability, and capacity building. Activities combine experiential learning, peer exchange, and practical application of skills.
