Developing a specific network of actors and VET educators working in the craft of papier-mâché and bringing together "expert artisans" and "potential artisans"

In a European context characterised by a high rate of youth unemployment, the PPM Project  aims at developing a specific network made of all the actors involved in the craft papier-mâché production and in VET education. The scope of the PPM Project is to bring two different target groups together, namely the one of “expert artisans” and that of “potential artisans”, in order to encourage smart peer to peer learning approaches by exploiting the full potential opportunities of the sector.

TARGET GROUPs

PPM will be addressed to two different target groups:

  • FIRST TARGET GROUP: “potential artisans” of youngsters’ high school graduated from technical profile (aged 19+), who are aspiring/potential employees/entrepreneursin the papier-mâché artifacts manufacturing. The first target group need is being introduced to the labour market by acquiring basic/soft and transversal skills, key competencies, knowledge; specific competences.
  • SECOND TARGET GROUP: “Expert artisans” or established entrepreneurs (aged 25+) in the field of papier-mâché manufacturing.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

  • Develop a specific network composed by actors involved in the craft papier-mâché production and actors involved in the VET education;
  • Bring two different target groups together of “expert artisans” and”potential artisans” to encourage smart peer to peer learning approaches and exploiting the full potential opportunities of the sector.

APPROACH / METHODOLOGY

Methodology of “Design Thinking” and “Work based learning”, which will be tailored to provide to VET learners a learning module based on “learning from experiences”, in a real work environment during the final fabrication laboratory, which will take place inTempio Pausania, a pioneer city in the processing of material papier-mâché.

  • Module A: How to transmit competences and skills through Creative Thinking and Work Base learning methodologies (Germany)

The Project PAPIER – PÂCHÉ MASTERS path will deliver the following results and outputs:

1.1 Comparative research of best practices among the PPM partnership on papier-mâché sector
1.1 Production of Training Course format (IO1)

2.1 Two TC modules embedding a pathway using the methodologies of “Design Thinking” and “Work based learning”
2.2 Production of a Guide on the methodologies developed focused on papier-mâché manufacturing, containing the new methodologies adopted (IO2)

  1. An open-access Web Platform (IO3) to serve as a hub for sharing ideas, coordination, networking and matching at the European level.
    The Project Platform will contain the activities involved in the TC, the new methodologies and it will be open to all to register, easily download. Furthermore, all contents will be translated into all the languages.
