Nowadays we are living in a multicultural society where migration is on the daily agenda and International migration is particularly dynamic in Europe.In 2016, nearly 390,000 people arrived in Europe through the Mediterranean region. In 2017 the 28 Member States of the European Union (EU) granted protection status to 538.000 asylum seekers. This huge migrant/refugees flows are influencing the cultural background of European countries.This phenomenon is amplified by social media and ICT tools playing a paramount role, particularly for their popularity among the younger generation. In the present situation, where mass media disinformation and misleading politics are fostering stereotypes and prejudices.

Project objectives:
provide involved youngsters with basic tools of Cultural Mediation and the related techniques. Develop a set of methodologies based on Non-Formal Education (NFE) for youth operators/organizations/interested individuals to act as mediators in orienting interaction averting/solving conflicts and stereotyping among migrants/refugees and hosting communities, with a particular focus on young people;- Sharing best practices in the field of NFE and cultural mediation among partner organizations, with a view to enhancing their operational capacities in their own countries;- Enhance mutual respect, understanding and dialogue between migrants/refugees and locals, particularly in the field of youth.- Promote new media as a tool for spreading tolerance and respect for difference among youngsters; Achieve a multiplier effect and make participants ambassadors of multiculturalism with their peers.
