Approach/Methodologies

The MENTORS project employs a research-oriented methodology focused on creating and validating multi-actor educational models involving parents, referees, and coaches to foster children’s development through sports. The project begins with a comprehensive research phase, gathering academic literature and on-field data across the consortium’s participating countries. This phase aims to understand the specific needs and challenges of the target groups (TGs) and to develop educational foundations based on collected insights. Surveys, interviews, and focus groups with stakeholders will be conducted to inform the development of educational models promoting values like inclusivity, teamwork, and self-esteem.

Following the research, the project will develop a tailored training format for TGs, including pilot testing in real-world sports environments such as schools and clubs. The effectiveness of these models will be assessed through sessions and feedback from participants and stakeholders, with a focus on continuous improvement. The final phase includes the dissemination of the findings through academic publications, workshops, and digital platforms to promote the models across the sports education community.
