Education and Sport for All

The training course, which took place in Sassari Sassari (Sardinia), between 1 and 5 April 2014, had as its main objective the transfer of knowledge and empowerment or 5 adult learners on the use of sport as an educational tool aimed at inclusion through non-fomal education methodology.

Through the imoplementation of  educational exercises, the 5 adult learners have acquired skills on how to create so-called “Adaptive Games”, defined as such because they are based on the needs of the participants, using sport as a methodology of social inclusion, and facilitating the achievement of the same goals for all participants as well as the same level of involvement in the activities.

In addition, the training course had the following specific objectives:

– Analysis and demonstration of how sport can be the perfect tool for inclusion and stimulate the active participation of individuals with fewer opportunities (particularly the ones with disabilities);

-Reflection on how to fight stereotypes towards vulnerable groups, providing participants with a good understanding of social inclusion/exclusion, discrimination and human rights education;

– Launching an international network of professionals, volunteers, associations with the aim of disseminating successful good practices internationally and sharing new ideas to have a greater impact.
