KA1 – ECO-citizens for Sustainable Society
European Commission stated in its “Strategic long-term vision for a prosperous, modern, competitive and climate-neutral economy by 2050” how important is to invest in realistic technological solutions, empowering citizens and aligning action in key areas such as industrial policy, finance, or research – while ensuring social fairness for a just transition. The main goal for the European Union is to cut emissions 55% by 2030 and 100% by 2050 and to build a sustainable living between citizens and the planet, with a future in which ecology is no longer an emergency but a way of life and where environmental education is implemented daily.
“ECO-citizens for a Sustainable Society” (ECOSS) project proposal was born from the cooperation of Consortium partners who strongly agree with their objectives to inspire, empower and raise the overall climate change and environmental awareness amongst youth. It is based on specific objectives pursued by the Erasmus + Programme in the field of youth through the KA1. Furthermore, it supports the EU Commission priority concerning “Energy union and climate”.
ECOSS wants to be a change of learning, discussing, analysing and empowering both youth workers/educators and youngsters regarding environmental based issues. ECOSS is a multi-activity that will involve a Training Course “SusTraining Youth Workers to Environmental EducAction” and a Youth Exchange “Set a Millstone for an Eco-Generation”. The final output of the project will be the Toolkit „ECO-Education 2050”. 24 participants from all over Europe will set an awareness Social Campaign with contents created during the mobility.
