Good governance and sustainability in sport practice \u2013 GAIA<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u202f<\/span>As sport is an integral part of society, it cannot ignore environmental and sustainable development issues. As with any activity, sport both has an impact on the environment and is affected by it. GAIA aims to create awareness on the topic and foster the implementation of good governance and sustainability actions. In fact, sport presents broad opportunities to promote environmental awareness, capacity building and far-reaching actions for environmental, social and economic development across society. Thus, GAIA aims to conduct a research on the inclusion of good governance and sustainability principles in sports organisation; develop a curriculum on Sustainability and Good Governance for members of Sports organisations ; elaborate a training programme on Sustainability and Good Governance; co-develop with the final users a Sustainable Sport Governance Chart.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      PROJECT\u2019S OBJECTIVES<\/span><\/b>\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      \u202f<\/span>1 – Define and provide members of Sports organisations with adapted skills, competences, and attitudes to act as Sustainable Good Governance officers within their organisation<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      2 – <\/span>Establish a network of informed and committed sports organisations, pledging to the Sustainable Sport Governance Chart and committing to <\/span>adapt their governance and structure to as many principles as possible<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      APPROACH \/ METHODOLOGY<\/span><\/b>\u202f\u202f<\/span><\/p>

      GAIA Project methodology is based on a cooperative division of work among Consortium partners, which are experienced in the field of project management and in the field of Sport and education. The division of work envisages a complementarity in the tasks and areas of expertise between partner organisations, while being tailored to achieve the maximum output from the cooperation itself.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      \u202f<\/span>Project ACTIVITIES<\/span><\/b>\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      The project will develop an e-learning course on sustainable governance for sport organizations\u2019 and clubs\u2019 staff and a <\/span>Sustainable Sport Governance Chart<\/span>\u202fto pledge to interested organizations. Moreover, it will conduct a research on the state-of-the-art of the inclusion of good governance and sustainability principles in the code of ethics of sports organisation in order to understand the needs and obstacles of sports organisations to comply with good governance and sustainability principles.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      3 Transnational meetings are also planned:\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

        2.TPM 2: Mid-term Meeting in Budapest (Hungary)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

        1. 3. EVM: Final Evaluation Meeting in Skopje (Republic of North Macedonia)\u202f<\/span><\/li><\/ol>

          To foster \u202fproject\u2019s outputs and involve as many sport organisations as possible, the project will implement six local training course, six local seminars and six multiplier event in each country involved. Moreover an international 8-days-long seminar to be held online and an international multiplier event in Skopje are foreseen.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

          RESULTS<\/b>:<\/p>

          1. Sustainable Sport Governance Officer Curriculum \u2013 The Sustainable Sport\u00a0<\/span>Governance Officer Curriculum will detail the skills, competences and attitudes needed by the professional figure identified to act as a champion of sustainability and good governance within sports organisations.<\/span><\/p>

          2. E-course on Sustainable Sport Governance \u2013 The e-course will be produced as an\u00a0<\/span>educational Format adaptable to the needs and context-specific characteristics of sports organisations\u2019 members interested in implementing sustainability and GG principles in the code of ethics,<\/span><\/p>

          3. Educational programme on Sustainable Sport Governance \u2013 The Educational
          Programme will be a 6 days training programme on Sustainability and Good Governance for sports organisations\u2019 members.<\/p>

          4. Sustainable Sport Governance Chart \u2013 The Sustainable Sport Governance Chart will be the resulting document of the participatory phase, including 8 principles and no more than 10, which will be jointly developed directly by the involved Sport managers, coaches, athletes, and volunteers, from grassroots sport organisations up to recognized sport federation.<\/p>

          5. GAIA Network Platform \u2013 The GAIA Network Platform will be the hosting platform of the GAIA Network, a network of informed and committed sport clubs and organisation set up with participants to the participatory phase, partners and other stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>
