Associazione<\/span> <\/span>Cultirale<\/span> <\/span>Pitagora<\/span> (ACP) is an organization composed of High Schools teacher<\/span> <\/span>employed in the secondary education school “<\/span>Scuola<\/span> <\/span>Paritaria<\/span> <\/span>Pitagora<\/span>” in Sassari.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The organization works in the field of educational support and mentoring of young adults with<\/span> <\/span>educational difficulties aged 18+. The young Adults the organization’s staff work with are often<\/span> <\/span>characterized by disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds (NEETs, youngsters from poor urban<\/span> <\/span>suburbs and deprived rural areas in North Sardinia) as well as suffer from educational difficulties<\/span> <\/span>(poor record of educational attainment). These young Adults are no longer involved in the formal<\/span> <\/span>circuit of education (school leavers) and are supported by the organization by means of educational<\/span> <\/span>assistance and mentoring with a view to facilitating their reintegration in the school system.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The specific organizational gap identified by the applicant is contextual to the unsatisfactory turnout<\/span> <\/span>in terms of educational involvement and retention of its audience of ta<\/span>rgets, emerging in the phase of <\/span>evaluation of the results achieved in the applicant’s activities. The main reason underneath the<\/span> <\/span>identified <\/span>uderperformance<\/span> was the limited ability to establish an educational connection with the<\/span> <\/span>targets overcoming their peculiar educational constraints as well as of keeping them involved in a<\/span> <\/span>long-term perspective <\/span>through the use of<\/span> participatory educational approaches.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

ACP has initiated a process of regular participation in the opportunities of mobility and <\/span>non formal<\/span> <\/span>learning guaranteed by the Erasmus Plus programme with a vi<\/span>ew to expanding its backpack of <\/span>methodologies in the field of education through the acquisition o<\/span>f new methodologies grounded on <\/span>the principles and approaches of Non Formal Education (<\/span>NFE) as methods to maximize the <\/span>involvement of its audience as well as the educational output of its activities by<\/span> means of enacting a <\/span>mutually reinforcing synergy between the formal and <\/span>non formal<\/span> educational approaches.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The priority of ACP in this context pertains to both acquiring an enhanced understanding of NFE<\/span> <\/span>methods and developing a set of connections with established European organizations in possession<\/span> <\/span>of specific expertise in the field of innovative instruments of <\/span>non formal<\/span> learning, with a threefold<\/span> <\/span>objective:<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Fostering the development of the capacities and operational variety of its staff of experienced <\/span>educators, with a focus on Non Formal<\/span> Education.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Establishing regular, long-term partnerships for the exchange of<\/span>knowledge and good practices as<\/span>well as the presentation of joint initiatives, thus extending the scope and outreach of ACP’s initiatives.<\/span> 3. <\/span>Acquisition of competences of project design and management in the field of specific interest of <\/span>the organization within the Erasmus Plus programme, related to<\/span> the educational support to the <\/span>educational integration and, thereby to the social inclusion an<\/span>d employability of young Adults <\/span>suffering from educational difficulties.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Through the present project, ACP aims at delivering on the recalled pr<\/strong><\/span>iorities through developing the competences of its experienced staff in the use of NFE methodologies as instruments of inclusive <\/strong>educational suppor<\/strong>t, as well as in the employment of the innovative meth<\/span>od of Storytelling as a tool of <\/span>enhancing reflection and ownership of th<\/span>e learning process by learners. <\/span>Storytelling (whose scope includes also Digital Storytelling, that is, the<\/span> application of Storytelling to <\/span>digital and media instruments) is an ever increasingly employe<\/span>d unconventional methodology of <\/span>support to the learning process using the immediateness of narratives as<\/span> an instrument for facilitating <\/span>the transmission of even complex sets of knowledge and competences to learners, at the same time<\/span> <\/span>favouring reflection, critical thinking and communication of knowledge <\/span>thr<\/span>ough the use of<\/span> the <\/span>causeeffect<\/span> <\/span>structure characterizing narratives.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

    The specific steps whereby the project envisages to deliver on the development needs of the<\/span> <\/span>organization are the following:<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

    1- Mobility of 5 trainers from ACP to Bulgaria, in the premise<\/span>s of the organization Champions <\/span>Factory, for atten<\/span>ding a Training Course on the use of Non Formal Education as a tool for fostering<\/span> <\/span>the acquisition of soft skills and transversal skills by disadvantaged young Adults.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

    2- Mobility of 5 Trainers from ACP to Germany, in the premises of the organization Comparative<\/span> <\/span>Research Network to attend a Training Course on the use of Storytelling as an instrument of support<\/span> <\/span>to learning, reflection and communication of knowledge.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

    3- Job Shadowing involving 2 members of ACP staff in the premises of the German partner CRN,<\/span> <\/span>focused on <\/span>ecxhanging<\/span> knowledge and good practices<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
