KA204 – Partnerships for adult education<\/p>\n

PROJECT DATES:\u00a001\/09\/2019 \u2013 31\/08\/2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project is a strategic partnership aimed at promoting up-skilling and re-skilling of adult migrants<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0(18 to 35 years) facing social exclusion with basic craftsmanship skills in EU countries through an\u00a0<\/strong>innovative educational format integrating transversal and entrepreneurial skills<\/strong> and an e-commerce<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>platform to sell their traditional hand-crafted ethnic products.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Upskilling adult migrants<\/span>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0transversal and entrepreneurial<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>skills will remove barriers to entry in the EU\u00a0<\/span>labour<\/span>\u00a0market.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

An analysis for the EU-28 population aged 25-54 shows that in 2017 just over one third (35.4 %) of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>non-EU-born migrants had successfully completed at most a lower secondary level of education.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>These results show a clear need for education, lifelong\u00a0<\/span>learning and upskilling for adult migrants<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>(Eurostat, 2018).<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>As explained by Eurostat (2015), the working age of the migrant population (15 to 64 years) is 78%<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>of the total and migrants in the EU are mostly in the 18 to 35 age range. Therefore, it could be an<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>impacting workforce with a high employability potential. Obsolete working skills are one of the most<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>important causes of social exclusion. NGOs already working with migrants will be at the core of the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>partnership and will engage the target group in project activities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Objectives\/Goals<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Promote the re-skilling or up-skilling of migrants<\/span>\u2019<\/span>basic, transversal and entrepreneurial<\/span>competencies through a new upskilling path to give them the capacity to\u00a0<\/span>valorise<\/span>\u00a0their handicraft<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>skills;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Valorise <\/span>skills and competencies of crafts migrants in the e-commerce field;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Build capacity of self-entrepreneurship for a sustainable and independent life;<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Promote social inclusion of migrants in EU countries by empowering them to enter the job market<\/span>through newly acquired competencies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Target group:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    The general audience of migrants with obsolete skills and the social workers in the field of migrants<\/span>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>integration, mostly at the local level of participating organizations, and the staff working in the field of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>migrants<\/span>\u2019<\/span> inclusion.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Activities:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Transnational Project Meetings<\/span>: <\/span>3 transnational project meetings are planned during the entire duration of the strategic partnership.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Intellectual Outputs:<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. A tested and validated educational format to teach basic, transversal and entrepreneurial skills<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>specifically applied to the field of craftsmanship;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    2. An e-commerce platform specifically dedicated to the selling of ethnical handicraft products to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>be used by crafts migrants that should be fully operative by the end of the project. Generated income<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>will grant the sustainability of this project output;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Multiplier Events\u00a0<\/span>\u2013<\/span>\u00a05 National Events and a final international conference<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    The multiplier events will aim to raise awareness at the local level about the potentiality of adult<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>migrants\u00a0<\/span>craftspersons<\/span>\u00a0skills and how they can be used to re-integrate them in the\u00a0<\/span>labour<\/span>\u00a0market.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    The\u00a0<\/span>Ethnicraft<\/span>\u00a0final international conference will be aimed at stakeholders in the field of adult<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>education coming from different sectors, such as training institutions,\u00a0<\/span>labour<\/span>\u00a0market stakeholders,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>organisations<\/span>\u00a0for active citizenship, policy-makers, public bodies, trade unions and other educational<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>institutions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Learning, Teaching, Training Activities<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Blended mobility for adult learners directed at migrants\u00a0<\/span>craftspersons<\/span>. It will be a training course<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>during which the training format will be tested and validated. Basic skills, such as language,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>transversal skills and entrepreneurial skills will be taught to adult migrants by an NFE methodology.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Trainees will get acquainted with practical learning instruments such as the management of real case<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>scenarios and the drafting of a business plan.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
