BioIslands

“BioIslands” is a 24 months long KA2 Cooperation partnerships in adult education project, which involves organizations from Aruba, Italy, the Netherlands, Cyprus, Croatia, and Slovenia. The project seeks to focus on three main sectors related to biodiversity preservation and achieve three objectives: 1) fostering biodiversity preservation in rural and maritime areas of European islands; 2) providing an adequate and qualitative learning opportunity for farmers, shepherds, and fishermen in biodiversity preservation, and 3) developing user-friendly digital instruments that can support farmers, shepherds and fishermen in preserve biodiversity in their daily work.

PROJECT’S OBJECTIVES:

  • Foster biodiversity preservation in rural and maritime areas of European islands;
  • Provide an adequate and qualitative learning opportunity for farmers, shepherds and fishermen in biodiversity preservation;
  • Develop user-friendly digital instruments that can support farmers, shepherds, and fishermen in preserve biodiversity in their daily work.

Project ACTIVITIES:

The two activities of the project are the following:

  1. A1: three E- learning courses, which will be developed based on the findings of the Research Report, one on Agriculture Biodiversity, one on Pastoralism Biodiversity and one on Fishery Biodiversity.
  2. A2: Biodiversity analysis & strategy section containing an analysis system of elements and indicators to assess the environmental impact of the area, individualize the presence of alien species as well as providing a specific plan containing suggestion for intervention.
